This Annual Event draws nearly 22\,000 attendees and over 170 vendors! \nThe 52nd Annual Holly Day Fair\, the largest holiday gift and craft show in Eastern North Carolina\, will be held Nov. 1-4 at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville. Hosted by the Junior League of Fayetteville\, the Holly Day Fair is a one-stop holiday shopping event that draws an average of 22\,000 attendees and over 200 vendors. Show-goers have an extensive selection of unique handcrafted and manufactured products to select from including the best in holiday decorations\, handmade crafts\, stylish jewelry and clothes\, children’s toys\, specialty food items and much more. Proceeds are given back into the local community through the Junior League of Fayetteville CAP grants\, which serve to support our food insecurities initiative.

Each country that you visit is worth different points so make sure you pay attention to their value. Dirtbag provides a scorekeeper and Umpire\n2. 8 players minimum\, 11 players maximum on the field.\n3. If you don’t have a team we can find one for you.\n4. Games end after 4 (4) full innings or 50 minutes. One extra inning is played if score is tied first team to score wins.\n5. No sliding or running into a fielder. No contact is allowed.\n6. Three (3) strikes is an out. Three (3) balls walk the kicker to first base. A foul counts as a strike. Getting tagged with the ball is an out.\n7. No arguing with the Umpire. They are volunteers.

The Town of Hope Mills is sponsoring the upcoming FAYONE (Opportunities Never End) Back to School Giveaway!!!\nThe FAYONE Event is a collection of several non profit organizations who will conduct as massive back to school giveaway on August 18\, 2018 at the Crown Arena is Fayetteville. So we are asking everyone to bring school supplies to the food truck rodeo that will ultimately be donated to FAYONE. \nThe Town of Hope Mills is continuing to also support the ALMS House of Hope Mills as we will still support their KAP (Kids Assistance Program) by collecting non perishable items at this event as well. \nThere will also be a vendor booth set up by McAdams who is a consulting firm that has been hired to complete the Town of Hope Mills Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan. DESCRIPTION:Ever wish you could sit under the stars and simply watch the sky?  Dorothea Dix Park makes that possible for you and your family with Skywatching . . . \nJoin staff and volunteers from the Morehead Planetarium & Science Center\, Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) and Raleigh Astronomy Club (RAC) for a free skywatching program at Dorothea Dix Park! \nVisitors to the park will be able to look through telescopes\, facilitated by staff and dedicated volunteers\, at a variety of objects in the sky. Jupiter\, Saturn and Mars will be prime targets — along with many other deep sky objects. This session is being held at the peak of the Perseid meteor shower\, so keep your eyes pointed skyward even when you are not looking through a telescope! Bring a blanket or chairs so you can relax under the stars. \nDetails \nThis is an informal session\, so you can arrive and leave any time during the three hours of the program. However\, if you plan to attend\, please register so that we can send you any additional information you may need as we get closer to the date. \nAll ages are welcome. Very young children may not get much out of looking through a telescope\, but those elementary-school-aged and older may especially enjoy the experience. Parents: We recommend you look through the telescope first—then you’ll be better able to help your child look. \nSometimes\, children (as well as adults) want to grab hold of the telescope\, potentially smudging the eyepiece or knocking the object out of view. Please teach children not to touch the telescope without the operator’s permission. You can ask children to place their hands behind their back as they approach the scope. Explain they’ll be using their eyes to look\, not their hands. \nBe sure to dress in layers. There are no shelters at the skywatching location and the wind can be chilly. \nPlease leave all pets at home\, even those on a leash. Darkness\, lots of people\, expensive telescopes and pets on leashes is a bad combination. Pets will not be permitted near the telescopes. \nLocation and Parking \nThe skywatching session will be located at Dorothea Dix Park on the Big Field. This is bordered by Blair Drive\, Barbour Drive and Biggs Drive. \nParking is available in gravel lots on Biggs Drive (please do not park on grass under the trees) and at the Adams Building Lot\, located roughly at 101 Blair Drive. \nPlease be courteous when driving in and try not to have your headlights light up the field more than necessary. \nPlease bring a small flashlight to help you walk across the field\, but you might find that avoiding all light and letting your eyes adjust to the darkness is more beneficial. Even a little light can throw off your night vision. \nPlease Note: There are no bathrooms in the park and no drinkable water\, so please plan to bring a water bottle and come prepared to only have porta-johns available\, which are a significant walk from the skywatching site. Walking in grass and up and down hills may be necessary.

Our P.L.A.C.E is a cultural art based non-profit organization founded on April 29\, 2015\, in Fayetteville\, North Carolina by Eean Tyson and Sherris Johnson. Our Mission is to provide opportunity\, education\, funding and resources to artist to impact society. We will use the arts as a medium to educate our youth and to serve the community. The funding will support community service\, the 2019 Southern Fried Poetry Slam\, operational costs and future projects. \nWe are raising money to fund our organization and to support our projects and events. \n-The Marquis Slam \nSouthern Fried Poetry Slam & National Poetry Slam representatives\nIndividual World Poetry Slam and Women of the World Poetry Slam representative \n-Hosting the 2019 Southern Fried Poetry Slam\n-Artist Workshops (all ages)\n-Cultural Arts Scholarship\n-Community Outreach\n-Youth Outreach \nThere will be 40 teams of 4 to 6 individuals competing(coed)in 10 exciting Field Day events for a trophy and bragging rights. \nCome out and enjoy an assortment of vendors\, and food trucks.
