Carissahas an amazing Blog focused on Recipes, Faith, Family and Fashion…the best parts of every Woman’s life! Β I had such fun coming up with my questions for Carissa so please be sure to head over to The Green Eyed Lady Blog and see her answers…
1. What inspired you to start blogging?
I’m not sure I would say I was ‘inspired‘ or not. Β That sounds so I dunno…deep. Β LOL Β I wanted to Blog simply to find an outlet for my inner voice. Β I guess I got tired of talking to myself…LOL Β You know when you have so many thoughts running around in there they just get a bit lonely. Β I wanted to have them actually impact someone besides myself. Β To make a difference in someone else’s life…to help, encourage and maybe uplift someone going through similar situations. Β When I realized how great the reach a Blog could potentially have I felt this could be a good way for a SAHM to still make a difference with her words and thoughts.
2. Signature Question: Its your turn to plan date night, but you cant plan any of the usuals (ex. dinner and movies) what do you plan?
A fun night for us would probably be a night in with the Kiddies out…LOL…we would have a great meal (take-in?) and then Hubby would play DJ and we would end up playing Video Games or watching DVDs. Β So it would be our little twist on Dinner & A Movie…LOL
If it were a no expense considered type thing I would want to fly somewhere for something extraordinary….like a great concert or something. Β We truly love music…old school is best so like Gladys Knight would be awesome! π
3. I see you participate in a lot of blog hops (hosting and participating) how do you keep up? And stay organized?
Haha! Yes, I love to support and be a part. Β It can be a bit hectic at times to say the least but I have BlogLovin, my trusty Plan Ahead Calendar, my iPhone reminder Alerts, my Calendar and my newly added iPad on standby at all times! Β With these great reminders I do okay…LOL
4. I recently read the selling tips for the Girl Scout cookies, what are the benefits of being a Girl Scout?
As a Girl Scout, my daughters have been able to meet new friends, learn social skills, enhance their abilities to interact and learn how to take and idea and make it a reality. Β Although Cookie Season is a major and totally Yummy part of being a Girl Scout it isn’t all of it. Β Throughout the year we teach our Girls how to become Women with well-rounded skill sets and confidence to use them in real world settings. Β These are the benefits I am most proud of when I say that my Girls and I are Girl Scouts!
5. You have 6 kids in a blended family…how do you make it work?
We simply love, support and embrace each other at all times. Β We don’t usually see ourselves as ‘blended’ but more as a Team…we are all a part of making the whole work as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Β It doesn’t matter where one ‘member’ originated from we are all here now and that is what matters the most. Β We are FAMILY. Β Period. Β We work together to stay together even when life may force us to be apart.
6. We only have Emma right now, but planning for more children in the future…whats the best thing about having a big family?
The support system. Β We always have each others back and there is always SOMEone to talk to, go to, hang with and be with. Β even when you may be annoyed with or not in the best place with one person (yes it happens folks) when you have a family of 8 there is always someone else to hang with until the dust settles (it usually does…even if Momma or Daddy has to intervene a bit…lol).
7. I read that you are originally from New York (I LOVE NEW YORK) do you miss living there? If so what do you miss the most?
There are certain aspects of New York that I miss:
The FOOD!
β₯OMG…there is NOTHING like a NY Regular Slice(that’s a cheese slice of pizza)
Yes! Β I know these are all considered ethnic dishes BUT the way they are made in New York simply cannot be matched ANYwhere ELSE! Β I have tried trust me! Β So, every time we return home the first thing we do is make food runs to each one of our favorite spots. Β Needless to say I come back a good 15 pounds heavier and I am totally OKAY WITH IT! Β π
8. What are three facts that you don’t normally share on your blog?
I don’t want to be lame but I honestly am pretty open on my Blog. Β You can -pretty much find out all you wanna know about me on past #AskAwayFriday Posts, My About Me Page, or my Finding My True Path Series…I honestly can’t thing of 3 things. I haven’t shared. Β I know bad form right? Β I honestly sat here like 30 minutes trying. Β I got nada. π
9. I see you are a contributing writer for a couple of sites, this is something I want to get into…what advice would you give to help me get into writing for other sites?
Just write from your heart and be truthful at all times. Β your content will draw the right site for you. That’s what happened with me. Β I didn’t seek out any of the sties I contribute to. Β I honestly don’t even know how to approach a site. Β I just wrote and the rest was a blessing.
10. What do you do for “me” time?
“Me” time? Β What’s that? Β LOL Β My “me” time is usually pretty simple…nails, hair a bit of shopping therapy. π Β I love having a Momma day but most times even when I ‘m in the midst of it I start texting the Hubby, shopping for the Kiddies or missing my Team so I’m usually home sooner rather than later…LOL
Aaah…Carissa had some truly great questions for me this week. Β I hope she enjoyed my questions as much as I have enjoyed hers. Β Don’t forget to head over to The Green Eyed Lady Blog and check our her Answers!

Hey lady! Great answers to great questions! That pizza looks wonderful! LOL! I have actually just started looking into signing lil miss up for Girl Scouts. Since we started home schooling, she has missed having friends to hang with/talk too, and even though she goes to church youth events she has had to deal with bullying. Which makes me sad. She wants so much to have friends, because she is my social butterfly. It has been many years since I did Girl Scouts, so I am going to check into it for her. Your date night, definitely sounds like the kind of night I would plan with my hubster. Have a great week, Tiffany!
My recent post This Momma’s Meandering Mondays 29!
Thanks! Yes I miss it so…LOL Oh you should! Girl Scouts is a great form of social interaction and confidence building for Girls. My youngest is very shy but since joining has come out of her shell a lot more. We love our nights in (and out) …Thanks for coming by π
My answer to #9 is to connect with others in your niche. I have asked others if they have opportunities for guest posts and have even been asked to write for others. It never hurts to ask because the worst thing that could happen is that the other party says "no".

Wow! Thank you so much, I’m truly flattered! You did?!?!? Yay! Don’t you just love it??? I am so in love with mine…LOL We’re attached at the hand… π
It's almost midnight, so I should not be thinking of food but after seeing those picture… girl, what have you started? I see you are a Jamaican food gangsta! LOL! Island food to the world!
I got to see Gladys Knight at Jazz in the Gardens in Florida in 2011. So worth the trip and the money. Made my night to see her! You would truly have a ball seeing her in concert.
My recent post Embracing “focus” in 2014
Hahaha! I’m sorry…has my post stirred your cravings? LOL Yes…I love some Jamaican food! I can’t help it…I was surrounded by it where I grew up…and loved it!
We did get to see Gladys once in a rather intimate concert (no more than a few 100 people) and she was amazing! I would love to se he again!
Hello! I came over from the Ask Away Friday link-up. I loved your answer about NY foods — I've only been to NY once very briefly and I've never even heard of some of that stuff! (other than the pizza, of course)
My recent post Why I don’t wear perfume and could never be an optometrist
hi! Thanks for coming by π Thank you…LOL I am definitely a food lover and my tastes is a bit picky at times but when I find something I love …I love it whole heartedly …LOL
First off I am so hungry now after seeing those pictures!!! Please take me with you next time you go! LOL!! So glad that we got a chance to partner up this week!!! I had fun reading your answers and answering your questions! I keep a calendar for my post but I am going to step my game up…I want to be more like you! LOL! Its a great way to meet other bloggers as well as network myself! But I agree I have my google calendar set up for everything…and there are always alerts going off!
Your date nights sound like mine and my husband. We often have dates that include Emma…but we do try to get away on our own. My husband loves music so he is always looking for concerts to go to…and he loves Gladys Knight! LOL!!
That is awesome…how you became a contributing writer! I said this is my year to make more moves like that! So I think that was my sign to step out my box and go for it!

Haha! I was hungry after I finished posting all of them! Trust me! I am a true HungryGirl at heart…LOL I woould be happy to give you a Foodie tour of NY…
I\’m glad too…it was so much fun and your question we a blast π More like me? LOL I\’m trying my best…it can get hectic at times and I feel a bit swamped but I love the rush of it…makes me feel like I\’m back at work…lol…I also love making friends and spreading the support…
Wow really?! Gladys Knight is the best! We went to her concert once and loved her…she is so laid back and cool…
It was such a blessing! I couldn\’t believe I was even being approached being such a Newbie but I am grateful everyday for every door that opens…
Tiffany, I like your idea of a date! That's probably what we would do too. I'm hoping to get some TV time in this weekend with the hubby, after the kids go to bed!

I LOL'ed when you said you blog because you were tired of talking to yourself. That was the best, honest and funny way of putting it. It feels good to have a voice and connect with others, doesn't it? Cheers and happy Friday!

Hahaha! I\’m glad it gave you a chuckle…I promise I\’m sane…I just have so many ideas, thoughts and such bouncing around …that\’s why I\’ve kept a journal since like 6th grade. Gotta get it out somehow…LOL Happy Friday and I hope you have a great weekend!
I wish I had had a better experience when I visited New York — needless to say I was put off by it but it would be fun to have you take me around your city!! I love a good food menu — we all know that π LOL
Great answers to Miss Carissa's questions!
I love how family oriented you are. You are just a solid foundation of a mom, wife and woman!
Oh No! I hate that you had a bad experience. I\’m not a NYCity girl so much…I grew up in what a true BX Girl would consider the suburbs but I liked to go into the city for shopping, entertainment and of course food! LOL π I would love to take you around one day…!
Lately our dates have been us dropping the kids off at my moms and us picking up some take out and going back home to relax and watch a movie. We hardly ever make it to the movies, I enjoy watching a movie at home more. My husband and are such homebodies.
Just starting out on this AskAwayFriday journey and I really see how you can open up. I LOVE beef patties (my husband is Bahamian) and I just had oxtails a couple of weeks ago… DELICIOUS!
My recent post #AskAwayFriday with Amber
Welcome! Yes, 10 questions each week can truly bring another level of you personality to the surface depending on who is asking the questions. I had some oxtails a few weeks ago that were ok but I haven\’t found any patties that were good… π LOL
Even though I am a Boston gal at heart (go Sox!) lol I LOVE New York Pizza, too! Girl, your energy always amazes me…. you are a "superblogger" π xoxxoxo
My recent post #AskAwayFriday Week 23! Welcome Uplifting Families!
Hey friend! So glad to get to know you even more this week. I too would choose time in with my hubby and the kids out! I spent a week in NYC a few years ago by myself and it was amazing. The food alone was worth the trip. Have a great weekend!
