Five Minute Friday: Last

“Truthful lips endure forever,

but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.” Proverbs 12:19 {NAS}

So when someone lies on me or decides that the truth is not worth sharing, I don’t worry anymore. Worry is not meant for me. God intends only good things for me, his daughter, his Princess, His good thing. Instead I focus on the goodness he has promised me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer 29:11 {NIV}

Those are what I shall dwell on. God’s plans for my. Hope and future. For lies do not last more than a moment. Yet god’s love for me…that is eternal. The lies, they are not permanent and therefore neither is the damage they may be meant to inflict. But the joy of the Lord and His peace is what will last in my life. When I focus on Him and His goodness they are what will surely last for me.
