Ice cream has been a part of summer fun for as long as I can remember. I must have passed on my love of all things yummy to my youngest daughter who has what we like to call a sweet mouth – her love of ice cream is too big to limit it to just one tooth! Happiness for her comes in a bowl of her favorite ice cream, pretty toppings and bright colors.I decided to bring all that fun together by creating a Kid’s Sundae Fun Station!
One Stop Shopping
The best part of any fun idea is shopping for supplies! Right? I can wander the aisles of Walmart for hours looking for just the right things to bring my vision to life. From Craft aisle to Ice Cream aisle, from party decor right down to the sprinkles in the bowls – Walmart is my top pick for one stop shopping and this time was no different!
Once I had all my decorating supplies I grabbed headed over to the market aisles to get the absolute must haves for any sundae fun – yummy ice cream and our traditional toppings!
Blue Bunny® PB ‘N Cones™
New Blue Bunny® treats take the delicious taste we love and give them a fun new twist that everyone can enjoy.
Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
Smucker’s variety of toppings help make every day sundae and the fun is always included with every bite!
Reddi-Wip® Original Whipped Topping
With these 3 yummies in my cart, I knew I was going had the foundations for some pretty cool (haha – get it – cool?) sundaes and tons of fun!
Recipe For Fun
Make It Different!
Summer is all about bright beautiful colors! My ideas always start in the aisles. Most times I walk up and down until I spot that one thing to start it all. This time it was a table cloth with hot pink, bright green and bright blue polka dots. That’s where my color scheme started. Once I had that I was able to find all the things I needed to transform my kitchen counter from plain to the perfect Kid’s Sundae Fun Station!
Thanks to a bit of double-sided tape, scissors and creativity – I took my table cloth and repurposed it as a back drop for my kitchen counter bringing the bright color design across the entire length. This not only added a bit of fun to the corner but it also helped me with clean-up after all the sundae fun. I simply pulled it down, wrapped it up and threw it out!
Make It Fun!
Remember when I said I wanted to have a play on some of my Kiddie’s favorite movies? That’s where my toppings came in! We had Fairy Dust, Pixie Pillows and Memory Bubbles! My Kiddies are the biggest movie lovers ever – much like their mom – so I decided to play on some of their favorite movie memories to bring our recipe for fun all together! The sound of laughter and giggles when my Kiddies realized what they were was well worth the brainstorming it took me to come up with them!
Make It Yummy!
Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
Reddi-Wip® Original Whipped Topping
This recipe for fun is perfect for warm summer nights, memories made and sweet treats all kids love like sprinkles, marshmallows and candies.
Each of my Kiddies had the chance to add their own fun toppings in as little or as much as they liked. Not only did this Kid’s Sundae Fun Station bring some #SummerSundae fun but it even gave this Momma a few moments of silence as they all enjoyed their sundae creations.
Be sure to stop by your local Walmart to check out how you can bring a bit of Sundae Fun to your summer with Blue Bunny® PB ‘N Cones™, Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping and Reddi-Wip® Original Whipped Topping. Here are a few Summer Sundae ideas to help get you started!
