i often speak of the blessing of finding a community as a Blogger. That was something I was in search of back when I first began and then I met Meg. I believe our first interaction was through SITSSharefest (n/k/a #SITSBlogging). We were both Newbie Bloggers and in search of answers to those questions the more seasoned Bloggers may see as ‘silly’. That’s when Meg had the brilliant idea to start a Facebook Group just for the Newbie in us all: The Newbie Blogging and Support Group. It was here that we had the chance to ask all our questions. Fast-Forward to this week’s #AskAWayFriday and I can’t wait to reconnect with a friend and amazing Blogger who can truly tell me “I Knew You When…”
What is #AskAwayFriday? Well…
#AskAwayFriday was created by the amazing Penny from Real Housewife of Caroline County who will again be joining us from time to time, as a way to connect with other bloggers with a great Q & A session of 10 questions and 10 answers, between two bloggers! This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know others while allowing others to get to know you and of course there is also the added bonus of making great friends along the way which is one of the best parts of this online world!
Now to welcome our wonderful #AskAwayFriday hosts…
So grab our button, follow our amazing hosts and co-host, hop through the great link ups and make some amazing new friends!
Did I forget to mention? Meg is the amazing creator behind The Patchwork Paisley a site full of DIY, Funny Stories, Music and so much more so be sure to head over and visit her to see how she answers my questions this week! Now to Meg’s Questions…
1- I am proud to say I knew you when and I have been a part of your life when you were a newbie blogger. You have come so far and built something pretty amazing. So now I ask you- what is the most helpful things you’ve learned? What’s something you wish you knew how to do? What’s been one of your favorite experiences as a blogger?
Thank You So Much Meg!! It has definitely been an amazing journey and I can hardly believe it’s only been a little over a year! What a great question, I will answer each part.
Most Helpful: The most helpful thing i have learned so far is definitely the importance of support and community. Without even one of these I would never be where I am now. Support like what you created within the Newbie Blogging FB Group where we could ask any question no matter how silly we thought it was and know that there would someone who would answer or help us find the answer we needed. Community like what we have here within the #AskAwayFriday family. We all come from different niches and interests still we find common ground and with that we have a bond. These are truly two things that have helped me beyond measure in getting where I am today.
Wish I Knew How To Do: I really wish I was better at code. I can design and create a lot of things but I still feel at a loss with Code. I have even discussed going back to school for web design and graphics with my Hubby. I truly enjoy figuring it out and have self-taught myself enough to handle my site and the changes I’ve wanted BUT I want to be able to do it without the struggle of looking it up here and there first. I want to own that knowledge. hopefully that will be something I can pursue in the near future.
Favorite Experiences As A Blogger: This one is easy! To date my favorite experience as a Blogger has definitely been attending the SITSGirls Bloggy Boot Camp ATL. I feel this was the perfect conference for me to attend as a first time experience. It was long enough to leave me full of knowledge, experiences and take-aways but not too long to overwhelm me.
I had a chance to have a mini-adventure full of crazy experiences getting there, have my first mom’s night out in a long time, meet 2 of my Blogger BFFs and even had a chance to realize the support I felt online with SITSGirls didn’t end there – it was just as sincere and evident in person.
2- I know you lived in Hawaii for a while and I’ve never been, but am dying to go. If by some miracle I ever get the chance- what are some of the best, do-not-miss attractions or little islander secrets that is have to experience while there?
Yes I did but the funny part is the first year we lived there we lived on post and I was 7 months preggers when I arrived and had a 8 month old when I left. The second time I lived there I was 8 months preggers when I arrived and again had an infant when I left. During both times my Hubby was active duty and worked the majority of most days and even weekends. This meant I didn’t do much outside of my home or our immediate neighborhoods.
As a family, we loved going to the Ala Moana Center which is an open-air mall that is both elegant and full of amazing stores. It was more on the high-end with stores like Armani, Fendi and Louis Vuitton so when we were looking for a bargain we would visit the Pearlridge Mall which had stores like Old Navy, GAP and Aeropostale. Yes, my exploration was mostly shopping π
Once the Kiddies are a bit older we want to go back and truly find all the local spots and hidden gems because I know there are definitely many to choose from.
3- You seem like superwoman to me with such a large family and successful blog- you make it all seem so easy! What is a normal day in the life of Mrs.Tee like?
Wow! Thank You. I am far from a Superwoman. I just try to find a balance or something as close to balance that I can find that allows me to be a good Woman, Wife, Mother AND Blogger.
A 5:45 start to get Kiddies bathed, fed and out the door for school
Errands or groceries then home to feed my Buddie who is still home with me full time
After we eat, watch a bit of cartoons and play I try to get a bit of morning Blogging done
Then we got pick up the Girlies
More errands and running around (whatever I can’t do at crack-o-dawn in the morning)
Lunch
Homework
Then depending on the night we get ready for Kiddie activities
Dinner
Bedtime Routines
Kiddies in Bed
Blogging
Hubby Time
Bed?
4- I am binge watching Scandal on Netflix right now and have reached obsession territory. Any shows you can’t get enough?
Isn’t it addictive?!?!?!? Scandal is definitely my main show but now I also watch How To Get Away With Murder, Blacklist, Arrow, Marvel Agents of Shield, Once Upon A Time, The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy.
5- Thanksgiving is coming- yay! What is the one thanksgiving dish you look forward the most every year?
Why must i choose just one??? LOL…I definitely love stuffing and take advantage of Thanksgiving because during the year no one else really likes it. I also love PIE! π
6- I am all about patterns and textures, especially on fabric. Give me lace, paisley, damask, polka dots- I’ll take it all! If there was a fabric design inspired by you, what would it look like?
Oooh! Fun one Meg! I love all things Leopard, Pink, Black & White…
7- Dump, hump, marry! (You knew it was coming π here are your choices: (in honor of Scandal) Columbus Short, (recently named sexiest man alive-) Chris Hemsworth, orrr Jason Derulo.
Haha! Yes, I knew this was coming π
Dump: Jason Derulo – I just don’t like him at all. His music is fun but his look, style and personality do nothing for me. Sorry Jason.
Hump: Chris Hemsworth – I dunno. He’s cute but I wanted to save Columbus Short for Marry π
Marry: Columbus Short – I mean have you seen him?
8- if money was no object and you could purchase one thing that your family would absolutely love, what would you buy?
A home! we are in desperate need of more space and a newer home. I would definitely make that purchase without any hesitation.
9- Disney princesses are a big part of my life since Vi is obsessed. If you were a Disney princess, which one would you be and why?
Hmm..I think I’ve answered this before but I have no clue who I picked. There have been a few new Princesses to hit the scenes recently so I guess I have more to choose from. I think I would love to be Princess Anna – she is so strong despite everyone assuming she was the exact opposite. It was her love for her family, her sister Elsa that helped to break through the hurt that had done such damage. I like to feel that love can truly conquer all and I think her love is the perfect example of that.
10- What is something you’ve never done before but would like to learn/try?
I would love to zip line! I have watched it, looked it up, researched it and I really want to try it. I just need to get past my nerves and fears of something happening. It looks like such truly exhilarating fun!
It has definitely been so much fun getting reaquainted with Meg and answering her always fun questions. Don’t forget to stop by her place and see how she answers mine π

I would've said Marry for Columbus until his recent debacle which got him kicked off the show! I would have to switch Chris and Columbus for sure! That's such a fun pattern, even though I'm not into patterns. I love the idea of zip lining, but I will probably never do it.
Thanks Farrah! If you ever want to join in the #AskAwayFriday fun just let me know! Oh I\’m so glad I could introduce you to Columbus…he is well worth the search π
I'd love to zip line too. I'm so about a bit adventure when I'm traveling. I'm in agreement about having a community of bloggers, it's a great support and resource. The blogging arena is consistently changing so it's great to have a group in which you can share ideas.

Tiff! I love your answers. It was so great to exchange with you and actually a bit challenging to try and find questions to haven't been asked or things I didn't already know! I get what you mean about Jason Derulo, but I saw him on So You Think You Can Dance over the summer and he was kind of adorable. Columbus Short though, definitely. That pattern is definitely you. I'm so jealous that you got to go to the SITs Girls boot camp and I totally know what you mean about learning code and owning the knowledge. Just the research alone to figure it all out is time consuming, not to mention actually initiating it on the blog!!
My recent post Ask Away Friday With Mrs.Tee
Thanks Meg! It was so much fun reconnecting. I can’t believe how far we have come!! I saw him on SYTYCD too but still – nothing. LOL It was so amazing! I hope you can come to a conference soon so we can meet – even though I feel like we are true friends already xoxo Yes, that HTML Code Web Design course is definitely in my future for sure!
Great exchange!!! Scandal was so good last night. I can't wait for Jan 29th. I hope to go to Hawaii one day. My six-year also wants to go. We are big Wheel of Fortune fans and he always loved the pics they would show when people would win trips to Hawaii. So he started saying he wanted to go to Hawaii around the time he was four years old.
Thanks Sonya! Scandal was so good last night. I was on the edge of the couch π You should. It is definitely a place worth seeing. I can’t wait to get back. Haha! At least he has grand dreams π
Scandal is great! House of Cards is incredible too! If you love scandal, you must see it! Orange is the New Black is one of my favorites too.
