Hey there August! August is my birthday month which means I plan on squeezing the most out of every weekend I can – that means movies!
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw · Release Date August 2nd
Dwayne Johnson. Jason Statham. Idris Alba. I mean I don’t think I need to say more than these three actors on the same screen BUT for those of you who need more, I will. Hobbs & Shaw is an extension of the Fast & Furious series and although we may not see the familiar faces I am excited to see how this trio takes the Fast & Furious action, drama, and humor we have come to love and makes it their own!

The Art Of Racing In The Rain · Release Date August 9th
Confession: I love dog movies. Ya got me! I love the movies where the dog is so relatable you almost forget it’s a dog. The Art Of Racing In The Rain with Milo Ventimiglia proves to be that kind of movie. When race car driver Denny Swift looks at his dog I’m not sure he realizes how much Enzo has learned about life from him but thankfully Enzo will tell us for himself.

Brian Banks · Release Date August 9th
Brain Banks is the real-life story of a high school football star falsely accused and convicted of a crime he did not commit. Starring Aldis Hodge Bleeker Street Studios brings his story, his struggle and his triumph to the screen in a way I know I don’t want to miss.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 · Release Date August 14th
This one is for the Kiddies. Okay, okay. It’s for me too. I fell in love with Angry Birds the moment I saw them take the big screen and I can’t wait to see another story of their battle with the pigs in The Angry Birds Movie 2.

Overcomer · Release Date August 23rd
Unfortunately, it isn’t often that Inspirational movies make it to the big screen or a major movie theatre. Overcomer is one I am looking forward to sharing with my family. It tells the story of a High School Basketball coach who faces change and finds the strength to be the inspiration for a student in a race to her own change.
I recently found out that one of our local organizations – Designing Station – is hosting a Movie Night on August 24th to help support this amazing movie and move of God! You can get your tickets HERE which includes options for a Ticket Combo Pack (includes your ticket + popcorn & drink) or Single Ticket!

My Spy · Release Date August 23rd
My Spy gets my vote for our August Family Movie Night. Similar to some of our favorite movies like Spy Kids and The Spy Next Door My Spy gives 9-year-old Sophie the chance to hone her skills as a spy with a bit of help from JJ a hardened spy she may just teach a thing or two along the way.
