It’s Summer! That’s right folks and for me this year there is so much in store including our family trip to Disney and my son’s transition to College Student…Eeeek! So, one of the first things I am doing to prep for my summer is to get my new summer do (hair do that is…)!
I wanted to get something that was easy to keep done as well as a protective style for my hair. With our Disney trip coming up, I know that I ma going to be in the heat, sun and hopefully some pool water rather often. Not sure if you all know but one thing about me is that I don’t do my hair, like at all.
To keep my hair protected I decided to get some box braids done. This is not only a protective style but when done right can be really versatile and stylish. I had braids in last year and loved them. I’m also trying to let my hair grow out again to regain a bit of my length and keeping it braided for the summer is a great way to allow it to grow out of the layers I’ve had cut in as well as keep it healthy since I haven’t had a perm in nearly 3 years and no chemicals (besides color) in a little over 2 years.
This year, I decided to get the braids done a bit larger to cut down on my style time as well as make it a bit easier to maintain. I also wanted to mix in a bit of color…wanna see how it turned out?

Thank YOU Artney! ๐ I love them too and may be holding on to them a bit beyond the summer. It is such a great and quick style plus the protection to my hair is a bonus!
I remember the days of the box braids! It was a very easy to maintain style especially for the summer.
It really is and they are a great protective style as well..
Looks great!

That's amazing Tiffany! For me it is a bold statement hair in a nice sense of way. I've always been safe with my hair. Scared to try something new. Hehe
