NCBlogger Meetup – Bloggers, Bees & Brunch

This past weekend was so eventful for me. I not only attended my First Blogger EventΒ then the very next day I had the chanceΒ to go to my first Blogger Meetup. There were Bloggers, Bees and Brunch! That’s right, Bloggers, Bees and Brunch! We met up at The Busy Bee Cafe in Raleigh a place withΒ character and charm.

Thanks to our amazing Hosts Madison from Wetherills Say I Do and Kathy from UpΒ To Date Interiors we had a day full of new connections and new experiences.

We were in a private area on the second floor and the staff and waiters were very accommodating. I enjoyed the best chicken salad I’ve had in a while and it was on a croissant! YumYummy!

As we ate, we all had a chance to get to know each other, exchange business cards (because I mean hey we all love showing them off…LOL) and chat about our favorite state, North Carolina.

Our speaker, Linda Mendible gave us some really great tips on how to successfully brand yourself and becoming appealing to companies and even other Bloggers. I even learned a bit of something about scheduling Facebook posts! Linda was so bright and full of joy it was a pleasure to hear her speak. If you’re looking for design, decor and how to balance a successful blog with an amazing family head over and check her out!

After Linda’s presentation, we mingled a bit more and got to know a few of our similar Blogger traits:

Taking photos of everyΒ meal before anyone can eat (Lee πŸ™‚ )

FindingΒ the perfect photo poses (Carmody ;D )

Mastering our DSLR cameras settings

Right before everyone headed back to their different NC homes we had the chance to pick up our amazing Swag Boxes (Yup boxes) made up by some of the amazing NCBlogger Meetup Sponsors:

What a wonderful experience! I wish we had more blogging meet ups here too. I only know 3 bloggers here in Cebu and one of them is Rea from Reality Bites. I smiled at what you said about business cards because I joined a Google event last month (the first event I ever attended) and I was so excited about my business cards! But guess how many I gave out? Just 3! and there were hundreds of attendees! Hahahaha I was so shy! I stayed in one corner and befriended one lady blogger beside me only because we were required to find a partner! The other 2 were given out because they politely asked me for them. They must have felt sorry for me. Hhahahhaha I'm such a blabber mouth online but when I get the chance to get out and meet people, I clam up! Darn it! Okay, I will stop now. πŸ™‚

It was so much fun and really help me get out of my comfort zone. I had to force myself to just do it and be social. I think it\’s great you know 3. It can be hard to connect in real life. You should definitely do another event and get those cards out there πŸ™‚
