Okay that’s not true. I have fears. Probably too many to list or even describe but thankfully I have a way to eliminate and deal with all of them – my faith.
What was your biggest fear as a child? Do you still have it today? If it went away, when did your feelings changes?
Today’s prompt had me thinking a bit. As a child I was scared of everything. My Grandmother was a hover parent and she gave warnings about why I shouldn’t do this that or even that and with those warning fear started to take hold of me. When I hit my teens those fears grew even more and I walked around paranoid and suspect of everything and everyone…until!
Until I realized that God didn’t give me fear. He had no intentions for me to have it or hold onto and gave me a way to release it. It was easy. Trust Him. Once I started doing that the fears left center stage and I was able to live without wondering who was watching me, who would grab me, etc. etc.
Now I am not saying I am this super faith-filled person who walks in perpetual protection and lack of fear. They creep back and sometime I go looking for them because honestly my fears protect me in some ways. They let me say “Oh I can’t do that, go there, etc.” but I am saying that my Faith has helped me to make those mistakes a lot less often and to live a happier more peaceful life.
What does that mean? Thankfully that means I have stopped the chain of passing those fears on to my Kiddies. Yes I am careful with them, I protect them and I am aware but I don’t place my fears on them.
