During the holidays, every moment with my family is so important. Christmas is usually the only time we can all gather together in one place for more than a few hours. Hosting dinner with all our family favorites and inviting over a few friends has become a tradition. Kraft® helps me be sure that our Holiday time together is well spent by giving us the home {made} dishes we love the most as a family for the holidays.
One dish that is always on my table during the holidays is macaroni and cheese. As a child, watching my Grandmother shred a block of Kraft® Sharp Cheddar Cheese in under 15 minutes was always something I saw as her super power. How did she do it so fast? Seeing her mix up her homemade sauce without measuring a thing and then getting the chance to watch as it all baked away in the oven to a bubbly masterpiece! These memories are what the holidays mean to me. Unfortunately I don’t have her skill with a grater or eye for ingredients so bringing this dish to my table required me to adjust things a bit.
Thanks to Kraft® I can skip a few steps in the labor while still recreating her recipe with that same amazing taste she always managed to place on the table every holiday. Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese Deluxe Dinners give me a way to have tender pasta and a creamy cheesy sauce all in one box! Add in Kraft® Natural Shredded Cheese and I get to add my own homemade touch. One thing I definitely learned from my Grandmother was that love is the most important part of any recipe and a few shortcuts along the way doesn’t take away from that in the slightest.
I remember when I first found Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese Dinner boxes. It was nearly 9 years ago and I was in Wal-Mart trying to prep for my very first holiday dinner as a soldier’s wife. I knew macaroni and cheese had to be a part of our day but I also knew I needed a few short cuts to prepare a meal not only for our then family of 6 but for my husband’s soldiers as well. I need to figure a way to spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying our family and friends.
Finding a way to cut down on the prep while keeping those homemade memories was so easy with Kraft®. As I read the directions for the Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese Deluxe Dinner I realized that with a few more steps I could add the homemade taste I remembered from my Grandmother while cutting back on the time I had to spend to get it there.
My first addition would have to be more cheese! I can always count on Wal-Mart to have all the ingredients I need for every dish on my holiday menu. I headed straight for the packaged deli department to get a bag of Kraft® Natural Shredded Cheese because let’s face it my grating speed could never be where my Grandmother’s used to be – I would be in there all day!
Flash-forward a few years and this scene is pretty much the same well except for 2 more children. Making my home {made} semi-famous macaroni and cheese using Kraft® Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese Dinner has become our own Holiday tradition. Adding a few of my personal touches helps me make it a bit more like the macaroni and cheese I remember while letting me spend a lot less time making it.
I know I’m not alone in my need to cut down on kitchen time and add to family time during the Holidays so here’s how Kraft® Natural Shredded Cheese helps me give my family home {made} taste at a faster pace.

Recipe Notes
Every time I open that oven and see that ooey gooey cheese bubbling in the dish it feels just like it should. This dish definitely proves that I am #NaturallyCheesy with it’s extra cheesy goodness and a bit of bake time paired with Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese Deluxe Dinner and Kraft® Naturally Shredded Cheese helps me bring my Grandmother’s macaroni and cheese inspiration to my family without taking away from the moments we treasure the most. I’d call that the perfect way to be Home {made} for the Holidays.

That’s quite an easy recipe, nice post too. Your first para reminds me of my childhood days. Thanks for the memory and recipe both
I buy shredded cheese as well because I just don't have time to shred and it takes so long! And I love comfort food at this time of year. Mac n cheese sounds so good right now! Especially since everything is better with cheese!
Yes Girl Tyra! I don’t even know why I own a grater…they take forever! LOL… Oh yes, cheese makes everything better 🙂
This is perfect comfort food for the holidays, mac'n'cheese is so heart warming. I love Kraft cheese, I just recently made a lasagna using it, now I have to try your recipe. Looks so creamy and so perfectly cheesy!
It really is just one of those dishes…I do too! Oooh lasagna…I haven’t made that in way too long! 🙂
