My husband was in the Military for over 15 years and as a Sergeant he was responsible for enforcing the rules – some of which weren’t always that easy to keep. I met many soldiers who had to learn the hard way when they were ‘out of reg’ and once they learned they usually didn’t make that mistake twice. As the wife, many of his soldiers became like family and I learned a few tricks to how they kept their hair regulation friendly while being simple and easy. Today with a bit of help from Suave Professionals® products I’m going to share one with you that I saw the most and even decided to add to my own busy mom looks for everyday.
Military Regulations are far from well – regular. There are rules and restrictions and so many different ways to be out of regulation that a lot of the women have very few options when it comes to hairstyles but the one that seemed to be a favorite among my husband’s soldiers was a classic bun. What made it fun was finding a way to make a regulation bun unique to you. I saw so many different variations but for me the one I love the most and actually wear myself on some of my busiest mom days is a Simple Spin Bun. This bun takes me less than 20 minutes from start to finish and I still look put together and ready for my day.
First thing is to start with a nice clean head of hair. As soldiers, sweating and getting dirty is just part of the daily routine so making sure to keep your hair clean is so important because the Military doesn’t only regulate the style but hygiene as well. As a busy mom keeping my hair clean is something I see as a bit of ‘me time’ and enjoy having as much as possible. I started this style by washing my hair with Suave Professionals® Sea Mineral Infusion Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner.
NEW Suave Professionals® Sea Mineral Infusion is a salon-inspired range of hair care and styling products infused with a carefully chosen blend of rich minerals from the sea for effortless volume.
This duo left my hair feeling clean, moisturized, full of body and ready for my simple spin bun style…
After washing…

- Apply Suave Professionals® Infusion Sea Salt Spray

Once in a low ponytail…
- Simply Spin your hair in a clockwise direction around the base of your ponytail
- Spin until you can tuck then ends into the sides
