That’s right everyone, it’s that time of the year…Spring…and we all know with the warmer weather comes the urge to clear out all the ‘stuff” you’ve stored up during the Winter. Are you having a hard time getting into your closet or even worse seeing the floor at all because of all your ‘stuff’?
Then get rid of it! Donate Stuff. Create Jobs. with Goodwill Industries International. Did you know that by donating your stuff to the Goodwill you can help to create jobs and a better way of life for those within your own community? It’s easy. Goodwill has even come up with a plan to help you make clean in as little as 7 days! That will leave you the rest of this warm weather to go outside and have some fun! Sounds great right? Here’s how it works:
Goodwill’s #7DaysofSpringCleaning helps you to clean 7 different areas of your home for 7 consecutive days and then donate …that’s it…you’re done! You and your closet floor can have a reunion worthy of Spring 🙂
Day 1) Clear your closet clutter
You know the stuff: that shirt you bought but never wore, those shoes that never seem to fit just right.
Day 2) Time to tackle the kitchen
If it has fur or smells like it should it needs to go.
Day 3) Spread holiday cheer (holiday decorations, center pieces, Halloween)
The decorations that seem to maybe be a bit worn from the years.
Day 4) Downsize your tech toys (used laptops)
In with the new out with the old.
Day 5) Clean out your office supplies
You know that stapler hasn’t worked in over a year. Why hold on to it?
Day 6) Provide quality entertainment (unused movies, video games)
If you’ve made the techie jump to streaming donate those old DVDs to someone who isn’t there just yet.
Day 7) Downsize your bookshelf
We all love books but we can read just about anything now with a tablet so streamline your library a bit and donate.
I don’t know about you but having a plan of attack always makes cleaning a lot easier for me. Then once you’re done you can take all that ‘stuff’ and donate it at your nearest Goodwill Industries Location and start seeing in have an impact on your community. Interested in knowing what your donation impact may be? Check out this great Donation Impact Calculator to give you an idea.
Still feel like maybe you have a few too many things left in your closet? Find out why with the Closet Personality Test. This is a fun and easy way to find out what your closet style is and a great start to help you declutter for a new season. I took the test and found out, a bit to my surprise, that my closet personality is TRENDY…
Not only does this give me my Closet Personality but it even offers me a downloadable Checklist to help me get the clutter out!
How can I go wrong with my Spring Cleaning? This year with the help of Goodwill I will be able not only to Clean but to make an impact as well by simply learning how I can Donate Stuff. Create Jobs.

I love Goodwill 😉 I always find such great finds to repurpose in my life. Also, Goodwill receives brand new Target goodies and sells them at a super low price 🙂
XOXO
It’s such an easy way to help make an impact within your own community. I had No Idea about the Target Goodies!! I definitely will be looking into that 😀
We have a local Christian center I often donate to as well as a few churches that give the items away when they are in need. I love Goodwill though and have donated there as well. Especially when I do a huge clean up and know those smaller places would not have the room for an overload of donations at the time.
That is a great cause to donate to as well. Helping those in your community can be so easy and I’m happy you’ve taken that step especially during Spring Cleaning time 😀
