NaBloPoMo December is all about joy. I suppose that is fitting being that December is the beginning of one of the most joyous Holidays and reasons to celebrate. So, when I saw the theme I signed up right away. After I wondered if I’d clicked a bit too quick. Still, November’s NaBlopomo went pretty good for me. I paced myself. I planned ahead to take off Saturdays and Sundays since those are usually my family time and I didn’t want to become overwhelmed. It really helped me to make it as far as I did. I think my last post was a few days before Thanksgiving. With family visiting and preparations, I just couldn’t write any quality content. For me, that meant it was time to bow out gracefully.
Still i so enjoyed the fun of the NaBloPoMo Community as well as the different creative paths the prompts were able to send me to explore. So, I have decided to take part in NaBloPoMo December. Same rules apply: weekends I rest. Now, let’s get started 😀
December 1, 2014 What do you do when you’re down to bring yourself a little joy?
Think on the good.
For me my Joy is tied to the blessings, love and memories I have. In the times where the unavoidable trials and just plain yucky days come the quickest way for me to find my joy in the midst of it is to think on those things I count as blessings.
My Faith
If it weren’t for the peace that I gain through God’s promises, assurances and love for me I don’t know where I would be in my life right now.
[tweetthis]When my joy hides behind my problems I look at my blessings and always find more just in time. [/tweetthis]
My Family
There are days when I get up and honestly want to climb right back into bed. Too tired, too overwhelmed. Just too. Yet when my Kiddies run through my door giggling and excited about the same day I was trying to avoid. I let their joy pull me through.
My Friends.
There is nothing like having a support system around you. A group of people you know have your best interest at heart no matter what. A true friend tells you what you need to hear despite what you may want to believe. Those are the people I surround myself with. Friends who easily become family.
These are the main things I know I can always count on to bring back my joy when finding it on my own may not be so easy.

I love your definition of joy! I try to find the joy in everyday and blanket myself in it, usually if I've lost my jubilance I can ALWAYS count on my family to bring it back 🙂
Wishing you a JOYFUL holiday season, my friend!
XOXO

Thanks so much!! It can be so hard to keep your Joy when life seems to everything to snatch it but having family friends and love around you have been the best ways for me to keep mine. Wishing all the best blessings and joy!! Xoxoxoxo
great post…it's hard to be positive when times are tough or the bad things keep piling up…but once you find joy it's golden

I totally agree with you. Even on my worst feeling days (and there have been a lot at the end of this pregnancy), a simple smile from my daughter brings true joy to my heart and makes the day worthwhile.

I love how the things that bring people joy are so unique to each of us, and yet a common bond between us all. For me, when I'm feeling low, I turn to my husband or my friend, Imogen, for pick me ups. I also can't help but smile when I see my kitties playing or sleeping or just being their sweet, kitty selves. And if that doesn't work, there is always makeup! I'll admit to being a retail therapy kind of girl when I'm down. Even just some online window shopping can bring back a little dose of joy!

Yes Megan. It is awesome how each person has their own special place and spark for their joy. I think children are one thing that can always offer a source of joy to people. Oh yes, shopping even if only through the window (or screen) is a great pick-me-up 😀
Wow you're doing the NaBloPoMo challenge again! Great job! Just looking at my children always brings so much joy to my heart.

I love that. My joy always hides behinds my problem but I must learn to find the good in something. I had no idea there was a NaBloPoMo this month.
My recent post Editor’s Note: Incredible
Thanks Kita! It can be really hard to keep focus on your joy in the middle of problems but it is so worth it 🙂 Yes, I think they do them every month but November is like the official month – I think that was when it started.
You are so right about the support system. Love the sentence "when my Kiddies run through my door giggling and excited about the same day I was trying to avoid. I let their joy pull me through" I do the same thing. Never knew how to describe or write that feeling but you did it perfectly!
Thank you Rachel. It is so weird how a child can have such a different perspective of the same things that we dread or avoid. Sometimes seeing things through their eyes is not only fun but best 🙂
Girl…brave or crazy! I’m not sure which one just yet…ask me at the end of the week! LOL It does give you a push though…I’m also doing VLOGmas which is kind at the same thing but for YouTube…wish me luck! 😀
