I have been connecting with Lisa this month CoHosting a wonderful LinkUp she started with Rabi from The Liebers called #TuesdayTen. I have had such fun because you get to make a list of 10 things from the various (and unique) prompts they come up with every week. Trust me, if you haven’t joined them yet you need to add it to your Must Do List! I’m not sure if Lisa did this intentionally or if it just happened but she had a theme of three in my questions this week and I found it kinda cool
Now it’s question time and I can’t wait to get started. Oh and let me know if you can pick out the theme of three that Lisa intertwined within my questions…
- Tell me about the history of your blog. How/why/when did you start blogging?
- How: I started Blogging after a lot of thought a research. If you know me I rarely do anything spontaneous and this was no different. I Googled and searched every aspect of Blogging and how to do it successfully. That’s when I purchased my domain and started my design.
- Why: I was interested in Blogging initially as a way to bring in a bit of extra income, you know for the little things that I didn’t want to touch the household money for. Then I realized it could be so much more than that. I had lost my voice and even my audience in my ministry because of how often we moved and I saw Blogging as a way to let my voice be heard by someone other than my reflection in the mirror 🙂
- When: So, after all my stalking of Bloggers and communities and deciding it was something I really wanted to do I officially launched my Blog on my 35th Birthday last year, 2013.
- You do a lot of vlogs. What advice would you give to a blogger who wanted to try vlogging?
- I’ve only recently gotten to a point where I am truly trying to extend my Brand and presence into YouTube. I truly feel that it is a great way to take your Blog further than your domain URL.
- I think anyone who truly want to VLOG can do it. I was scared, nervous and intimidated but the more I do it the more comfortable I feel. As my comfort level increases so does my confidence which helps my result to improve. There really is nothing to Vlogging but to Do It. Think of it as having a conversation with your readers, just you and them. Just chat about you, your life, your thoughts…whatever.
- I can’t wait until summer break, but my kids still have three more weeks of school! Do you have any big plans for the summer?
- I think we have about three weeks until my Kiddies are done as well. We actually have a lot going on this year for summer:
- The Teenager’s High School Graduation
- Dance Recitals
- My first Blogger Meet Up
- Our Very First Disney Trip!
- I think we have about three weeks until my Kiddies are done as well. We actually have a lot going on this year for summer:
- My oldest is only 11, but you have a teenager. What parenting advice would you give me as we move deeper into adolescence and closer to the teen years?
- Breathe. I often find myself taking a minute in a room, alone, just to take a breath. It can become overwhelming. Their personalities seem to change over night and at times I feel like someone swapped out my kid. That is until I share moment with him where I still see glimpses of my Baby Boy. He’s still in there. They will always be there but they are trying to deal with the changes they are feeling and sometimes they are just as overwhelmed as we are.
- Be Patient. Don’t think things will always be stressful or full of the Teenager woes. It passes. I promise 🙂
- Love On. Teenagers are often full of feelings and emotions they just can’t find the words to express. Love them even more and let them know that even when their words fail you will still be there.
- I have all daughters, but you have some of each! What is the biggest difference in raising boys vs. raising girls?
- I honestly don’t see a major difference. I find that there is a greater difference simply in personalities than in gender. Our girls can be just as rough as the boys and our boys just as sensitive as the girls. I parent the kid more than I do girl or boy. I just think it’s easier 🙂
- You have lived in New York, Hawaii, and North Carolina. Which one was your favorite and why?
- Wow! Hard one. I can pick my favorite thing from each one because I don’t think I can choose just one to love over the others 🙂
- New York
- The food. I Love my New York dishes there are just certain foods that don’t taste the same anywhere else. I listed the all in detail in this #AskAwayFriday but mainly pizza, beef patties, chinese food and jamaican food Oh My! 😀
- North Carolina
- The slowed down pace of things. I love that it is for the most part peaceful and quite after 6pm and even though having a late night out can be difficult the southern life definitely suits me.
- Hawaii
- The Weather, the Food and the Aloha Spirit. The weather in Hawaii was true perfection. No true Winter, always warm and never humid because of the constant ocean breezes. I loved it and would move back if every given the opportunity. It is like the best of the South and New York all in one state.
- I know your faith is a very important part of your life. Do you have a favorite scripture?
- Yes! My faith is truly my foundation and has helped me to become the woman, wife, mother and friend I am today. My favorite scripture is Romans 8:28:
- You have been a SAHM for several years now. Is there anything you miss about the corporate world?
- The only thing I could say I really miss are my daily interactions with ADULTS…LOL Being a SAHM your main contact is with Kiddies. There are times I try to think when I had a full blown grown up conversation (not cartoons, toys or play talk). Beyond that I love my SAHM life and would never trade the moments I’ve gained with my Kiddies for anything.
- I have always wished I could sing. Do you have any hidden talents or are there any special talents you wish you had?
- I wish I was a bit more athletic. I seriously have the worst coordination and sports ability and I would love to be able to do more sports based activities with my Kiddies. I can’t even ride a bike! LOL I know, sad. 🙁
- If you could only listen to three songs for the rest of you life, which three would you choose?
- Wow! Love this!
Lisa had some really great questions! Were you able to see the theme of three? Don’t forget to head over to visit Lisa and see what I had to ask her and how she answered.

Great advice about teenagers. My oldest is nearly 13 and it has been a roller coaster.
It’s not easy and I know I’ll be in for it when my girlies get to those years but hang in there. It does get better 🙂
I am so jealous you have lived in Hawaii! I imagine it just as you say, perfection. I am going to retire there..or run away next week lol You have such a great attitude, it shines through all your responses!
My recent post FRIDAY FUN! Ask Away Friday With Royalty!
It was definitely an amazing life experience and I would love to go back…maybe we will see each other 🙂 Thank you so much! It\’s been great getting to know you this week and I hope you have a great long weekend…
Great song choices! I'm not coordinated at all either. I takes me forever to get the moves down when playing Just Dance or dancing on Wii fit. However, I love playing dance games. I'm too afraid to try vlogging at this point but I plan on watching your videos.
My recent post Ask Away Friday with Sherri from God Life Happy Wife
Thanks! I picked one to cover each are of my life..LOL Oh no, I tried the Dance game and it was a Hot Mess! LMBO Thanks – but you should try it…when you decide to be sure to let me know so I can return the support and subscribe 😀
I know what you mean about the Aloha spirit! It was similar to the 'Pure Vida' way of life down in Costa Rica 🙂 I think I just really need to get back to a tropical environment! And yay for a lot of things to look forward to in the coming weeks and months! Isn't summer the best?
Have a good weekend, Tiffany!

Oooh! I would love to visit Costa Rica that must have been amazing! Yes, I love summer and this one is definitely a big one for us 😀 Have a great weekend Christy and enjoy the extra day!
Wow – what an exciting summer! Graduation, and Disney, and bloggers! So fun!!
One of my questions this week was where else in the US would I like to live – I answered North Carolina. I wrote about the great weather and having the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, but you added another great reason! I would love that quieter, slower pace!
Have a fabulous long weekend, Tiffany!
Yes it is definitely a summer packed full of activity…and I can\’t wait to do each one 😀 North Carolina is truly a lovely place to live. I wouldn\’t move up North or to a big city again if I didn\’t have to. Thanks so much for coming by Beth and I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the extra day 🙂
Great answers! This was so much fun. I love that you did so much research before you started blogging. I would have guessed that you had been blogging for at least a couple of years! Great advice not he kids, too. We definitely have to see them as individuals and parent accordingly – regardless of gender.
My recent post It's a Small World After All! {Ask Away Friday}
Thanks you gave me some really great questions to get there 🙂 Yes, research is something I do for everything…it can be a blessing and a curse LOL I have a tendency to overthink things at times and it stops me from being spontaneous, I\’m trying to find a balance though 🙂 Yes, I don\’t ever think of girl or boy just child. Have a great weekend Lisa!
I am so excited for you for Disney – you'd think I was the one going! And your advice to just "Love On" for teenagers is perfect. Have a great weekend, Tiffany!
My recent post So I’ve been thinking…
Thanks! I am too…I am getting so anxious I can\’t stand it! I think I am more excite than my Kiddies 😀 Thanks..it can be hard when their actions change but it really does work. Have an amazing weekend Dana 🙂
Oh I am so not athletic at all! I was that girl in high school who would get smacked in the head with the volleyball! LOL! Sadly, I actually flunked my freshman year of PE! LOL! I do kind of miss the adult interactions that came with working, now I get all of my adult conversations through and with my new bloggy friends. Have a great weekend, Tiffany!
My recent post #AskAwayFriday With Christy from Sweet and Savoring!
Haha! I hated volleyball! I could never get the hang of the throw the ball in the hair then hit it thing. Serve. LOL Yes, it is definitely a great release to have all my Blogger pals to chat with.
Even though I know how to bike, I'm definitely not sporty or athletic either – at least not anymore! I used to play volleyball, badminton, and even soft ball but now I don't think I know how to run anymore! Haha.
Love your advice about raising teens. I can't imagine getting to that point yet! 🙂
My recent post Fly or Walk Through Walls?
Hey that is WAY beyond my skill level! LOL This Color Run is my first attempt at trying to be a bit more active. Wish me luck 😉
Awesome questions and answers! I didn't realize that you just started Vlogging, you seem like a pro! I can't wait to go see what you asked Lisa!
My recent post apericots: Kids Clothes and More!
Thanks, Lisa gave me some great questions for sure! Yes, my 1st Blogiversary is coming up in a few months 😀 Thanks so much! xoxoxo
I love the Aloha spirit! I wish I would've studied it first, but I'm more like the person who will go it alone, without research, then research after the fact. I'm used to doing things alone!
My recent post Memorial Day Traditions without a Campout Sing-a-Long
It is so refreshing. Definitely adds to the beauty of the islands. Well going it alone is actually why I ended so much research… I wanted to do it myself which meant learning fast. Thank goodness I have all of you wonderful Bloggers to look to now (you have us too 🙂
I think it's great that you did so much research into starting a blog before you did it. I totally jumped in blindly and took off running! LOL!
My recent post #AskAwayFriday with Rea of REAlity Bites
I totally blame it on my OCD… It comes in handy sometimes 😉
