I was invited by the lovely and recent addition to my circle of friends Chelsea from Mommie and Wee. She sent me an email explaining the great idea where a Blogger gives their Readers a ‘tour’ of their space in this place we love to call home…BlogLand. As soon as I saw what it was all about I knew I definitely wanted to be the next stop on this journey called A Tour Through BlogLand…welcome to my place, MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter.
MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter was a place I never thought I would find the kind of comfort I have found. I began my blogging journey as one full of research, numbers and Pros/Cons. I knew that I wanted to have a place to share my thoughts, writings, opinions and musings and connect with others. I chose my site’s name to help express what I wanted to share Me – MrsTee, My Love – of my faith and family, My Life – the fun, moments and memories I make with my family and My Laughter – those crazy moments that always seem to happen to ‘only me’. These are all the 3 most important parts of who I am and together they make everything else that I may encounter worth it.
Then as I began to immerse myself in this blog life I was shocked my the community of women I found. Women who realized that any success, any achievements is all about support. It’s about building communities of people who are willing to share their experiences, knowledge and advice freely and without hesitation. I was lucky enough to find that and so much more. I found friendships. True relationships with women who had things in common with me, knew the life I lived and could relate.
As of last month, I have been blogging for 1 year now and it has truly been the most wonderful journey. I am excited for the path I have come and for the places I know it is taking me. I see great things ahead and I can’t wait to share them with all of you!
Now that you know me a bit, let’s take a journey through my space here in BlogLand…our stops along the way will answer any questions you have about my place…
What are you working on?
Now that a my Blogiversary Celebration has come to a close and I am getting back into the routine of things I am looking to expanding my connections with those around me. I want to take MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter beyond my URL and develop other areas of my brand. That includes my YouTube Channel where I get the chance to give my Readers a voice to go along with the words they have come to know here on my site.
That first step into the Vlogging world was a bit timid. I started 7 months ago with a Super Mom Tag from one of my BloggerBFFs, Penny from The Real Housewife of Caroline County. It was a bit awkward but instead of thinking of it as being ‘on camera’ I thought of it as just having a chat with a friend. It worked! Even though my first video may be a bit raw it was me and I had fun. From then on I knew I wanted to be a Vlogger.
That’s when I had to start working on learning how to develop a YouTube Channel. Once I got there and my Channel felt like me I wanted to connect with other Vlogs and Vloggers. I noticed that there weren’t really any LinkUps or Hops that focused on giving Vloggers a place to showcase their Channels or share their Videos. That’s how the Your Channel Or Mine Hop became a reality. With the #YCOMHop Bloggers who Vlog, Vloggers, YouTubers have a place and a way to expand their Channels reach and connect with others all in one place.
Each week my CoHost Nancy from From Haus To Home & NancyVlogs and LeSha from The Lovely Photog & TheLovelyPhotogTV host a Hop designed especially for YouTube users and their passions. I am so happy and excited to see where this goes and I truly expect great things!
I’m also having a blast as CoHost for several Blog Hops/LinkUps. I love being able to conect with other Blogs and Bloggers and having a great way to read amazing content every week.
How does your work differ from others of it’s genre?
Hmmm. What an interestingly difficult question. LOL. I think each Blogger and their site differs from the next the same way a one woman or man differs from another. We each have our own stories to tell, experience to share, opinions to give and personalities to show.
In doing that we all set ourselves apart from each other. We become distinct and therefore so do our sites, writings and reach. I truly believe that every Blogger/Vlogger has their audience. There is always someone out there who can read your words or hear your voice and say “That’s so true!” “I did that too!” “I feel the same way.”.
Finding your Reader(s) may at times seem daunting or even like it takes a while but just keep being who you are. For me that’s a bit quirky, funny, thoughtful, curious and even nerdy…but it’s me and I’m the best person for the part 🙂
Why do you write/create what you do?
I write because I must. There are moments in my life when writing is the only way to release the results of life not only bad but the good, exciting, confusing, funny…all of it. I fell in love with words as a young girl in school who had a hard time expressing herself. I was shy, awkward and not comfortable with who I was. It was through words and the way they allow me to share my thoughts no matter what that I started the lon gjourney to being okay with ME.
When I write here at my place in BlogLand, I write the same way I would chat with a friend. Yes, I know proper grammar, punctuation and all the important tools for writing yet I want to express who I am behind the words. So most times I lean towards writing in my inner voice a bit more than writing with correct english…LOL
When I write about my love, life and laughter I want to share those parts of who I am with all of you. I share it just like I would if we were chatting over coffee…I take the same approach when I create my Vlogs and Videos…it’s me and you. So far I think this is working for me, I hope you guys do too 😉
How does your writing/creating process work?
I really don’t have a set of instructions or anything. I honestly approach writing for my place the same way I would write in a journal. As things happen to me…I write. When I get ideas…I write. If I have an opinion on something…I write. I have a few notebooks and a notes app in my phone that I use to jot things down as they come to.
Once I have a few ideas, I set a block of time aside to develope them into full posts. I usually start with the images. I love designing graphics and taking photos so I do that first to get my mind set and to create something visual to put my words with.
After I have a graphic or image set up I free write. I write as it comes to me based off my notes. Then I edit, adjust, proof and hit that trust old Publish/Schedule button.
I try not to make my process to stressful. I never want what I do to become a chore.
