The theme for this week’s #TunesdayTuesdayHop is definitely one I had to take a moment to think about. It wa fun and a bit nostalgic too. Being raised in a very disciplined Christian home I didn’t get a chance to truly listen to anything other than Gospel or Christian music until I was in my late teens. One of the first artist I fell in love with was Aaliyah.
My first pick is Aaliyah’s 4 Page Letter. I was that same girl. The one who could always express ever emotion in detail through her writing but when it came to face to face…not so much. This song always takes me right back to those days with me and my journal and how I would pour out my heart.
Mama Always Told Me To “Be Careful Who I Love”
And Daddy Always Told Me, “Make Sure Hes Right”
I Always Had My Eyes, On This One Particular Guy
I Was Too Shy, So I Decided To Write
I’m Sending Him A 4 Page Letter,
And I Enclosed It With A Kiss.
And When I Write Him He Better, Get It On Time.
Im Sending Him A 4 Page Letter,
And I Enclosed It With A Kiss.
And When I Write Him He Better, Get It On Time.
Do you have a song that brings you back to a time in your life with a simple intro or beat?
