Spring Break. The week of creative fun and most times endless homework. I have never understood why but luckily this year my Girlie’s teacher took a new route and sent home a pretty interesting science project instead. One that has me wondering how it works and how it grew.
That’s right folks those are cotton balls and there are the buds of sunflower growing from them. Don’t ask me how…I’m waiting for my daughter to come home and tell me. She came home with a baggie of wet cotton balls with sunflower seeds placed directly on top. A week later and this is what we have. Isn’t science amazing??!?!
What is the strangest, most unique
or most creative Science Project your kiddies have brought home?

She’s never brought home a science project (our public schools suck in NM). However since we homeschool this year, we’ve done our own. The grossest was a project on pollution, where we had two plants – one was given just water, one was given water with motor oil mixed in. The plant with the oil actually turned blackish and died within a week. Like you could actually see the motor oil coming up in the veins of the plant.
Wow!! Kudos to you for taking their education in you own hands. That sounds like a truly eye opening experiment.
Great idea! My guy would love that

My brain was thinking that was some sort of food.. lol. I am glad it turned out to be a science thing! Cool idea for sure.
