Ever have that moment when the stars align to give you exactly what you need – when you need it? Thanks to Cape Fear Regional Theatre and a few unexpected changes in schedules that’s exactly the moment I had this weekend.
Cape Fear Regional has taken thinking out the box to new heights creating the perfect stage to welcome Lady Day home just a short stroll from their intimate theatre to the old Haymount Auto Repair to grace the stage and share her story through lyrics, stories, a few sips of ‘juice’, and several choice words sprinkled throughout.
Fayetteville is a city where I can find new traditions year by year and season by season. Taking the small moments and making them into memories we will always treasure.
CFRT has designed the set to make the audience part of the play. Seats are placed directly on the stage. We were so close I could have – and may have been tempted to – reach out and touch and/or hug the actors. This intimate arrangement brought me into the story.
